I was listening to the DVD commentary of Superman (again), while I was working on updating the layout of the photo gallery, and I can’t help but be fairly impressed with the amount of work and dedication that went into the production of the film. Notwithstanding the conflicts that permeated the film althroughout its production, the films still stands today as one of the best super hero movies ever produced.

The opening fanfare by John Williams still gives me goosebumps, and remains one of my favorite movie themes of all time (just behind Star Wars). I recommend that you rent (or buy) the Superman DVD just for the documentaries and the enjoyable commentary (never mind the hackneyed sequels, the first one is still the best one).

Hmmm, seems I’ve developed a habit of listening to DVD commentaries while I work on the computer … The past three days, I have watched (or rather listened) to DVD commentaries for The Godfather Trilogy, The Thing, Star Wars Episode I and II, Stargate and even the lackluster Dungeons and Dragons. Now I’m considering buying some literature audiobooks to listen to at work and maybe on my trip back home … maybe even at the gym!
