In Hellfire, two new characters were added into the mix when "command.txt" was enabled. The line "bardtest" brought about the existence of the Bard, while the patch and a line saying "barbariantest" brought the Barbarian into being. Although these two are not really a part of the Diablo story, they are two totally different and unique characters, that have radically different abilities than their four predecessors.
The Bard uses the Rogue graphics as its appearance, but the radical difference is that its expertise is not with the bow. Like the Warrior, this character's preference is melee weapons. Yet unlike the Warrior, she can use TWO swords or maces at one time (one in each hand). She possesses the "sweep" damage that the Monk enjoys with his attacks (more than one creature gets damage with one swing), and with relatively high and balanced attributes, this could prove to be one of the strongest characters present in the game.
SPECIAL SKILL: IDENTIFY One of the most powerful skills a character can have. This is the ultimate in utility characters, as she doesn't have to go to Cain and pay 100 gold pieces to get her items identified.
