The Terror I Left Behind

So I decided to take my lunch from work, and rode the elevator all the way down from the 18th floor … and right as I pass the 16th floor I got the overwhelming urge to fart …

I tried my best to break wind as soon as I can before I reach the ground floor, but for some reason it won’t come out … I didn’t want to exert too much because that would’ve been dangerous, especially since I didn’t bring an extra pair of pants with me …

So I took my time trying to blast it out as the elevator ran down through the floors, fortunately without stopping to pick up more passengers who would’ve ruined my bodily efforts to expel some unwanted gas … but the elevator reached single digit floors and I’m still trying to extricate the unwanted airborne anomaly from my unwilling posterior …

And right as the elevator reached the second floor, I felt it coming … and right as I successfully let go of a loud, lengthy deed that would’ve made the flatulence gods proud, the elevator door opened as it reached the ground floor …

… and I saw probably 10 waiting people outside, eager to get back to their jobs and happy that the elevator was finally open …

I smiled at them and immediately hurried out, but not before catching a faint whiff of something behind me … I was half-paying attention as I walked away from them, but noticing that every single person in that group entered the elevator I just came out of, one by one…

It was a good thing I didn’t know any of them – they seemed to be clients rather than regular employees in the building…

I could just imagine the outright terror I left behind … next time, I’ll do my best to hold it in … until I reach the parking elevator …
