Haha, too bad you didn't see the original... Robert Englund (yeah, Freddy himself) was one of the cast in the original, and he was the "klutzy" visitor, which added a bit of humor and "humanity" into the visitors, and one that is sorely lacking in this one based on the pilot episode... maybe we'll see it improve in the succeeding episodes, I dunno :)

But Diana (Jane Badler) in the original was more "feral" from the get-go than Ana in this new version... you can immediately tell from Diana that she is up to no good from the first time we see her on screen ;)

I never saw the original, but in the new "V" I didn't like how obviously bad the aliens were I wish they played out the "good' role a while longer and let us figure it out. I kinda felt that it was rushed and the characters were underdeveloped because of this. Other than that it look good, nice effects.

Yeah, they're going the route of political correctness instead of the campiness of the original, haha!

I'm still gonna have to see how they'll handle the purpose of visitors being on earth... in the original, it was about food and water, but mostly about the water... in this new one, it's starting to look more like war of the worlds.

We'll find out by end of November, I guess - they said they'll only air 4 episodes of this thing and gauge viewer interest before releasing the rest...

yeah, i liked the gender switcharoos of the lead character, come to think of it, i never did miss those "marc singer mullets". i also like how the writers updated the storyline to make it more, 21st century (i.e. terrorist sleeper cell activities turning out to be 'visitor' sleeper cells); and how that ryan dude mentions others like him who'd rather ally themselves with the humans, blah blah.....i forgot what they called them in the original so i had to wiki it, turns out they're known as the fifth column, so i'm hoping to see that carried over to the '09 reimaging.
